The Sixteenth Bath Film Festival
4-Day Film-Making Workshop for 14 – 18 year olds
Tuesday 24th to Friday 27th October, 9.30am – 4pm
£125 12 places
Facilitated by Suited and Booted Studios / Big State Theatre Workshop Leaders: Chris Kemp, Mark Bishop, Sara Strickland
A wonderful opportunity for young people to work with the professionals on the creation of a high-quality short film. Drama, documentary, animation, action adventure, horror or romcom - films are all about stories, and that’s the theme for this year’s workshop. There are supposed to be no more than 7 basic story types, but which are you going to tell and how are you going to tell it?
You’ll get to work for four days with award winning companies Big State Theatre and Suited and Booted Studios to make a film which will be shown as part of this year’s Bath Film Festival. Day 1 (Tues 24th) will be devoted to story devising, scripting, story-boarding, camera and sound operation and film acting. Days 2 (Wed 25th) and 3 (Thurs 26th) will see you applying your newly-acquired skills to shoot the film, and developing these and other skills as you go. Day 4 (Fri 27th) will be devoted to the postproduction skills of editing, music production and design. That’s a lot to pack into four days but no previous experience is needed, just enthusiasm, dedication and imagination.
Just 12 places on the workshop at £125 each - book early as they’ll soon be gone.
