A Serious Man

aseriousmanpic

The new Coen Bros film isn’t like anything you’ve seen before from them. No Brad Pitt gurning, no shoot outs, no big names, and a story that feels closer to their own experience than previous movies. It’s 1967, and Larry Gopnik thinks his life is as good as it gets. Which is when it all falls apart. Everything that can go wrong does go wrong, starting with his wife asking for a divorce. Larry now knows how Job feels and it’s all made worse by an underlay of Jewish guilt. Marrying seriousness with black comedy, the film achieves a more subtle level of humour than all their big budget comedies put together. PR

We hope that Coen brothers’ cinematographer Roger Deakins will be present at the screening to take your questions.
