Bath Film Festival 2008

Adult Animation Lab (18yrs plus)

Consequences

Percy Community Centre
25 / 26 October and 1 / 2 November, 10.00am – 4.30pm
£175 (6 places) / £100 (4 places)

This lab offers the over-18s the chance to experiment with various animation techniques to create short animated films. Over 2 weekends you’ll work with animation programmes such as Adobe Flash and techniques such as stop motion. You will also look at how you develop ideas and scripts for animation and at preparing your final films for distribution platforms such as the web and mobile phones. You will work under the guidance of 2 professional animators, including award-winning director Mark Simon Hewis, best known for his Channel 4 Animate commission The Life Size Zoetrope, in which he created a zoetrope from a fairground ride. Once your film is 'in the can,' it will be featured at Make It Short, our short film event, taking place on the closing evening of this year's festival. Selected films will also be uploaded to this website, for the whole world to watch long after the festival is over!
