at tickets.comThis remarkable film explores the raw power of the human voice. If your only experience of yodelling derives from The Sound of Music you might be put off, but don’t be! We follow three extraordinary performers: the unconventional and daring Christian Zehnder with his ingenious mix of yodelling, scat and overtone singing; Erika Stucky and her fusion of jazz and Alpine music; and the yodelling virtuoso Noldi Alder. There is even an encounter with Mongolian throat singers on a visit to Tuva to learn new voice techniques. Set against the vast and wild Alpine landscape, this film is as beautiful to watch as it is to listen to. AC
Frances Jones, alpine horn player will serenade you before the screening (from 6:30).
A short film entitled 'One' by Steve Bird, a.k.a SoundMangler was viewed prior to the screening of Echoes of Home. For more information about his work visit his official website at http://www.soundmangler.co.uk/
