A sneak preview of some international highlights from this year’s Encounters Short Film Festival, which is celebrating 15 years as the UK’s leading short film festival. In the BAFTA-winning A Matter of Loaf and Death Wallace and Gromit’s new bakery business faces danger when a mysterious killer starts targeting all the bakers in town. E.T.A.’s Marvin has the most boring job in the universe. But all is not as it seems... How They Dance is a funny and unconventional documentary about ordinary people who love to dance. In Miracle Fish 8-year-old Joe has a birthday he will never forget. Werner Herzog's moving interpretation of Puccini's love duet 'O Soave Fanciulla' from La Boheme, set among the Mursi people of south-west Ethiopia, is a wholly original marriage of opera and film. Looking for Photographs of Jesus, yetis and Hitler in 1948? This documentary-fantasy is based on true stories of requests for impossible images. Jay and Vicky's dull wait for the Last Train is interrupted by some boisterous teenagers.
