Bath Film Festival 2011
The key element of our 21st festival is a celebration of
one of the world's greatest film directors, who also happens
to live in Bath - namely Ken Loach, who is 75 this year. This
makes it all the more apposite that we should be screening
so many films by British directors, most of whom would be
more than happy to acknowledge Loach's influence on their
work.

Anniversaries are dangerous. The temptation is to ignore Dylan’s words (‘don’t look back’), but we must. I will only say that we’ve come a long way since 1991, when Scorsese’s Goodfellas was stiffed by Dances with Wolves at the Oscars. Perhaps our most important achievement is that
so many people are excited about each new programme, knowing for sure that we will offer an intriguing range of films from all over the world…

Bath Film Festival 2008
Welcome to the 18th Bath Film Festival. Seeing a film at the festival isn't like going to the cinema. Bath Film Festival 2007
The first thing you might notice about this year’s festival is that it spans a shorter time period. This doesn’t mean we’re offering you fewer films in 2007. In fact, we’ve managed to fit almost the same number of screenings and events – about 50 - into eleven days as we did in 2006 into eighteen. In all we’re offering a more concentrated experience this year, which we hope will generate a real sense o fcelebration of cinema and the moving image.
Bath Film Festival 2006
In the 18 days of this year’s festival you will have ample opportunity to sample the hottest new films in preview, as well as a chance to catch up with some of the more distinguished releases of 2006 that never made it to Bath. We’ve managed to attract some 20 filmmakers and other speakers to introduce the films and answer your questions, and we’ve special emphasis this year on new documentaries…
Bath Film Festival 2005
No matter how much planning goes into such an undertaking, a film festival makes itself. Not that it would happen anyway if we didn't do all the work, just that certain themes and connections have emerged unbidden from the 50 or so films and events that are gathered under the banner ‘Bath Film Festival 2005. All you need to discover your own satisfying connections is here, so make your own festival! We hope you enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed making ours.
