Based on the true story of an incredibly talented ‘naïve’ artist who was homeless for most of his life. Uninvited, Nikifor enters Marian Wlosinski’s studio, intending to stay and paint. Wlosinski’s life, quiet and carefully ordered to the minutest detail, is now very much disturbed. At first he tries hard to get rid of the persistent intruder then decides to sacrifice everything in order to take care of tubercular Nikifor until the day of the latter’s great triumph. Beautifully shot, the film portrays the eccentric life of an illiterate painter, unable to make intelligible speech, whose means of communication was through his painting. Incredibly the male lead is played by Krystyna Feldman, who won “Best Actress” award at Karlovy Vary 2005. SF
