With: Jørgen L. Vig, Sister Amvrosya

For years, eccentric aristocrat and bachelor Mr Vig has dreamed of turning his crumbling Danish Castle in to a Russian Orthodox monastery. The Moscow Patriarchate has finally agreed to send Sister Amvrosya and a small group of nuns to see if the castle is suitable. The 82 year-old Mr Vig has never known the company of women and is ill prepared for the strong willed and opinionated nun. This touching documentary beautifully observes their unfolding relationship and the rows that ensue about everything from the leaking roof to writing emails. It’s an unusual and delightful film, at some points quiet and meditative at others hilariously funny, and Mr. Vig is an unforgettable character who stays with you long after the film has finished.
